Sweet Christmas proposal ends with big surprise for couple

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- A sweet Christmastime marriage proposal got a surprise Month of Giving twist.

The CBS 6 Month of Giving is underway. Every day through December, a CBS 6 team member will surprise someone in the community with a random act of kindness.

When a young man decided he wanted to ask his girlfriend to marry him while Christmas tree shopping at Snead's Nursery, CBS 6 reporter Chelsea Rarrick could not let them go home empty handed.

After the proposal, Chelsea informed the love birds she was buying them their Christmas tree and first ornament has a newly engaged couple.

The CBS 6 Month of Giving is possible due to a partnership with Union Bank and Trust.
