Mike Pence to hold rally in Ashland

ASHLAND, Va. – Mike Pence will stop in Ashland Monday night ahead of Tuesday’s vice presidential debate at Longwood University in Farmville, according to Donald Trump’s website.

The Indiana governor is scheduled to speak at Cox Transportation Services on Dow Gil Road at 8 p.m.

Doors will open at 7 p.m. Click here to request tickets on Trump's website.

Then on Tuesday, Pence will take on Sen. Tim Kaine during the campaign's only vice presidential debate. The event at Longwood University will be moderated by Elaine Quijano from CBS News.

You can watch the debate starting at 9 p.m. Tuesday on CBS 6.

Then on Wednesday, Pence will be back on the campaign trail and will host another rally in Harrisonburg at the Rockingham County Fair Association at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Doors for that event will open at 9:30 a.m. Click here for tickets.

Pence made a surprise visit to Millie's Diner in Richmond in August when he spent about 20 minutes introducing himself and talking to voters.

"We did not know who it was going to be," customer Dawn Klopf said when she noticed security gathering outside the Main Street restaurant. "At first we thought it was going to be someone from the Food Network."
