RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) — Video shows a woman drop her cell phone and nearly get struck by a group of cyclists.

It happened just after 1 p.m. Sunday in Richmond during the USA Cycling Collegiate Road Nationals — Road Race Male D2.

CBS 6 News reporter Jake Burns just happened to be filming when the near-miss happened.

“She was lucky, she could have caused a lot of people to get hurt besides her… not to mention the ones who would have wanted to hurt her when they got up,” Pamala Poole wrote on the CBS 6 Facebook page.

The course the college athletes tackled over the weekend was nearly identical to the maps  the world-class road racers will see for the 2015  ICU Road World Championships.
