RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - CBS 6 Storm Team Meteorologist Mike Stone says severe weather is possible in some of the viewing area Friday afternoon.

However, Stone says the rain and clouds that tracked through the area in the morning will break for some sunshine in spots this afternoon.

Then, scattered storms will develop later this afternoon into this evening.  Some of those storms could be severe with strong winds and large hail.

Cloud cover will play a big part in the chance for severe weather, so we will continue to keep you updated on our storm threat throughout the day.

A cold front will pass through the area tonight and will get hung up along the coast for much of Saturday. [Click here for Stone's complete forecast]
