RICHMOND, Va. — A Richmond man has been arrested and charged with two felonies in connection with a shooting at a South Richmond apartment complexon Midlothian Turnpike last month.
Corey E. Young, 26, of Richmond, turned himself in to authorities Monday morning. He has been charged with malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
Officers were called to the Midlothian Village apartments in the 4000 block of Midlothian Turnpike around 7:40 p.m. on July 20 for a report of a person shot, they found a man inside an apartment with an apparent gunshot wound.
The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Last week, Richmond Police identified Young as a suspect in the case.
