Armed and dangerous man with ‘Cory’ tattoo wanted for South Richmond shooting

RICHMOND, Va. — Police are searching for an armed and dangerous suspect wanted for a shooting that wounded a man at a South Richmond apartment complex on Midlothian Turnpike earlier this month.

When officers  were called to the Midlothian Village apartments in the 4000 block of Midlothian Turnpike around 7:40 p.m. on July 20 for a report of a person shot, they found a man inside an apartment with an apparent gunshot wound.

The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are asking for the public’s help to find 26-year-old Corey E. Young of Richmond. He is wanted on malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony charges.

Officials warned Young is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.

Young is described as a black male, 6 feet tall, weighing about 153 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. He has “Cory” tattooed on his right arm.
