PETERSBURG, Va. (WTVR) -- Neighbors will gather Thurday evening to remember a Petersburg father gunned down last weekend.
Akeim Easter, 25, was fatally shot on his porch early Sunday morning after returning home from a funeral.
Easter had been a pallbearer at the funeral for three women and a toddler found dead inside a burned-out home, which happened just a few blocks from where Easter was shot.
“It’s devastating — it’s like people don’t have hearts,” said Kawanda Tucker, Easter's niece told CBS 6 News on Sunday afternoon.
A candlelight vigil will be held at 635 Harding Street in Petersburg at 6 p.m.
If you have information that could help police catch Easter's killer, call Petersburg-Dinwiddie Crime Solvers at 804-861-1212.
