CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – Police arrested the man they said led officers on a brief chase Sunday evening in Chesterfield County. Anthony Randolph Lawrence Peay, 22, is charged with two counts of felony hit and run, as well as eluding police, reckless driving and driving on a revoked license. Additional charges were pending, according to Chesterfield Police.

Police said they tried to stop Peay for reckless driving Sunday evening around 6:00 p.m. on Cricklewood Drive near Strathmore Road. Peay would not pull over.

“The driver failed to stop, leading police on a short vehicle pursuit before losing control and crashing on Cricklewood Drive,” police wrote in an email.

Peay got out of the 2000 Buick sedan car and ran, police said. A passenger was injured in the crash and taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police found and arrested Peay later on Sunday.
