Ashland professor, former Supreme Court fellow on health care ruling

RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - The United States Supreme Court upheld the main portion of the Health Care act Thursday, that requires all Americans to have health insurance.

It was not a cut and dry decision. In fact, most were caught by surprise when they learned that Chief Justice John Roberts, appointed by former President George W. Bush, had sided with some of the most liberal justices.

CBS 6 invited political expert and constitution professor Dr. Lauren Cohen-Bell from Randolph-Macon College to the studio Thursday to share her thoughts on the matter. Bell served as a fellow with the U.S. Supreme Court in 2006.
