RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – Patchy, shallow fog developed early Thursday morning as a result of clearing skies aloft, light winds overnight, and recent heavy rainfall in the Commonwealth. In some cases, the fog is so shallow it doesn’t even extend above the tree-top level. Expect visibilities to be most-reduced in low-lying areas, agricultural spaces, and along waterways. Some of the visibilities this morning have reported in at near-zero at times, especially south of Petersburg to the North Carolina state line. Please use caution on your morning commute and be prepared for sudden reductions in your visibility.
