RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – Scattered showers and storms are possible this afternoon west of I-95. Any of these storms could produce heavy downpours, lightning, gusty winds, and even some small hail. After 4 p.m. and into this evening, the showers and storms will track farther east into the I-95 corridor. That means the Richmond Metro will also have the late afternoon and evening chance for scattered showers and storms. A warm front will lift northeast through the Commonwealth overnight, setting the stage for strong to severe storms Wednesday afternoon as a surface cold front and associated strong upper-level disturbance track into the region.
