CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WTVR) – During a hearing Monday, Judge Edward Hogshire set August 30, 2012, as the sentencing date for convicted murderer George Huguely, reported multiple Charlottesville news organizations.
In February, a jury convicted the former University of Virginia lacrosse player of second-degree murder in the death of his ex-girlfriend Yeardley Love. The jury recommended Huguely, 24, serve 26 years in prison.
During the August hearing, Judge Hogshire can accept or reduce the jury’s recommendation.
