RICHMOND, Va. — Firefighters battled a blaze at a vacant home in Gilpin Court early Friday morning.

Around 11:50 p.m. Thursday, a call came in for a fire at the 1000 block of N. 3rd St.

Crews on scene told CBS 6, they were initially given the wrong address, but after speaking with Richmond Police, they arrived at the burning home around midnight.

Crews said when they arrived, smoke and fire was visible from the street.

They couldn’t make entry into the home, so they battled the blaze defensively.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
