CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- A massive fire destroyed a Brandermill home in Chesterfield County early Saturday morning.

Crews arrived to the home in the 3200 block Shallowford Landing Terrace around 2 a.m., according to Chesterfield Fire & EMS officials.

The fire was upgraded to a second-alarm call because two neighboring homes were smoking and in danger of catching fire, according to fire officials.

"Crews still working to bring the incident under control in the 3200 block of Shallowford Landing," officials said around 3:30 a.m.

Both neighboring homes had minor damage, but firefighters prevented them from catching fire, officials said.

The fire was marked under control around 3:55 a.m.

No one was hurt, but officials said the home was a "total loss."

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
