CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- Two teenagers escaped from a house fire in Chesterfield, according to firefighters at the scene of a Friday morning fire. The cause of the fire, which did extensive damage to the home, remains under investigation.
Fire crews were called to the home along the 6900 block of Autumn Point Drive at about 9:09 a.m.
"The entire roof and the rear of the house was on fire," a Chesterfield Fire spokesperson on the scene said. "Two juveniles had evacuated the building. The parents were not home, but did respond. There are no injuries."
At least one pet was unaccounted for after the fire was brought under control.
It appeared the fire started outside of the house, the firefighter said.
This is a developing story.
