  • Bacot’s 36 leads Trinity to TDIT Semifinals

    The 23rd Times Dispatch Invitational Tournament began Friday with 8 games around the area.  On the boys side, Trinity, the defending champions, got a game high 36 points from Armando Bacot as they beat Manchester 103-74.  The Titans will meet Hopewell in the Semifinals after the Blue Devils beat James River 56-47.  Elvin Edmonds IV led Hopewell with 17 points.     The Springers became only the eighth school in VHSL history to win three straight State Championships.

  • Hopewell Blue Devils win first state title since 2003

    The Hopewell Blue Devils ended a 14 year championship drought as they beat Heritage-Lynchburg 20-14 to win the Class 3 State Title for the first time since 2003.

    A look back at Saturday’s slate of College Football games around the state, Virginia Tech beat Pittsburgh 20-14 on Senior Day at Lane Stadium.  Senior Cam Phillips had eight catches for 117 yards and a touchdown in the win.     Goochland, VA – Goochland bounced back from their first deficit of the season to score 20 unanswered points in the second quarter en route to a 42-20 over Amelia to improve to 12-0 this season.     Henrico, VA – Hermitage scored three touchdowns by three different players as they advance to the Region 5B State Quarterfinals for the second time in three years after a 21-7 victory over Varina.
