Richmond house fire melts neighbor’s siding

RICHMOND, Va. -- An overnight fire at a vacant home on 2nd Avenue in Richmond remained under investigation as the sun rose Thursday.

A neighbor called Richmond firefighters to the home, along the 2000 block of 2nd Avenue, at about 2:15 a.m.

The neighbor reported the flames were reaching their home and started to melt the siding.

Four people in the neighboring home were unharmed.

Fire crews were able to get the fire under control at the vacant home in 30 minutes.
