HANOVER COUNTY, Va. — Firefighters are investigating a Friday morning house fire in Hanover County. Crews were called to the 11400 block of Caruthers Way at about 3 a.m.

“Upon arrival, crews found a two-story residence heavily involved with fire. An aggressive exterior fire attack was initiated and crews quickly transitioned to an interior attack. All of the
residents were reported to be out of the home safely and no injuries were sustained,” Hanover Fire Battalion Chief Gregory Martin said. “The homeowner noted that their smoke alarms activated which woke the family up and allowed them to escape safely.”

It took fire crews about an hour to bring the fire under control.
