CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- A water main break left parts of a Chesterfield neighborhood without water Friday morning.
The break was reported at about 3 a.m. Friday along the 10000 block of Redbridge Road.
"We got up to start our day and realized we didn’t have any water," one neighbor said.
Scott Morris with the Chesterfield County Utilities Department said as water lines age they need to be replaced or repaired or they will eventually fail.
The main was repaired and water service was restored to the 35 homes around 9:30 a.m.
Additionally, the hole in the road was filled with gravel and officials said crews will lay down pavement at some point over the next few days.
