RICHMOND, Va. --Precipitation will increase this afternoon. The metro will see snow with some mix at times. It will be mainly snow well northwest of Richmond, and a mix with rain far southeast. Highs this afternoon will be in the low to mid 30s.
Except for southeastern Virginia, additional snowfall accumulations of 1 to 4 inches will occur by the end of the day. The 3 to 4 inch snow amounts will be where localized snow bands persist.
Snow will taper to flurries this evening. Overnight lows will be in the 20s, allowing any snow or slush to turn icy on untreated surfaces.
