HANOVER COUNTY, Va. -- An earlier vehicle fire that closed lanes on Interstate 95 north near Lewistown Road (Exit 89) in Hanover has created traffic backups throughout the county. The lanes have since reopened.

"The Hanover County Sheriff’s Office is currently monitoring the high volume of traffic in the area of the Sliding Hill Road and Lewistown Road Exits and Interstate 95 Northbound and Southbound in Hanover County. Emergency crews responded to two incidents on Interstate 95 which has created traffic congestion on the secondary roadways in Hanover County," Hanover Sheriff's Office spokesperson Christopher Stem said. "Interstate 95 Northbound and Southbound lanes and all secondary roadways are currently open in Hanover County. Commuters should anticipate travel delays on the interstate and secondary roadways."

This is a developing story. Witnesses can send news tips and photos here.
