RICHMOND, Va. -- Red Cap Patisserie is now open in the Fan in Richmond.
The bakery offers sweet and savory pastries at 719 North Meadow Street.
Chef and co-owner Martine Wladar, who is running the business with her husband, John, said a trip to Paris has helped shape their business.
"It was a revelation for us to taste the quality of the products produced there and in our own small way we're trying to introduce that in to this community and compliment the businesses that are around," John Wladar said.
Red Cap held a soft opening earlier in April after taking over the space left vacant last fall by Lucille’s Bakery.
