Police ID man killed after car hits tree in Charles City County

CHARLES CITY COUNTY, Va. — State Police are investigating a single vehicle crash that left a man dead Saturday night.

The accident occurred a little before 9:15 p.m. on the 5800 block of Courthouse Road just south of Route 612. Police say a 2008 Acura TL was traveling north when it ran off the road to the left and struck a tree.

The driver of the Acura, 21-year-old Kennedy O. Greene of Providence Forge, died at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

Investigators say speed is being considered a factor in the crash.
