2 injured in wreck that closed I-85 in Petersburg

PETERSBURG, Va. — A single-vehicle wreck that shutdown I-85 north in Petersburg Saturday night sent two people to the hospital.

Sgt. Steve Vick with Virginia State Police said two people were med-flighted with serious injuries to an area hospital.

VDOT reported the interstate’s northbound lanes were completely blocked as of 6:40 p.m.

Additionally, the southbound left and center lanes were closed.

All lanes had reopened around 7:50.
