POWHATAN COUNTY, Va. — A death investigation is underway after a man was found dead in Powhatan County.
A 911 call led the Powhatan Sheriff’s Office to the 2100 block of Flint Hill Road.
There deputies found the body of 48-year-old John R. Rafter Jr.
Rafter’s cause of death will be determined by the Medical Examiner’s Office.
“This case is under investigation and no further information is available at this time,” a sheriff’s office spokesperson said. “There is no reason to believe at this time that there is any threat to the public at large.”
