Scooter fire ignites gas pump at West End Wawa

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- A fire has been extinguished at a West End Wawa convenience store after a scooter caught fire near a gas pump.

Police said they fire started at 4:23 p.m. at the Wawa at Staples Mill and Bethlehem Roads. Investigators say a scooter caught fire and then the flames spread to one of the gas pumps.

Firefighters arrived within five minutes and were able to extinguish it. No one was hurt during the incident.
