Suffolk Police build relationships with elementary students over lunch

SUFFOLK, Va. – Chew With the Blue is a new program the Suffolk Police Department has started with Booker T. Washington Elementary School.

The goal of the program is to build relationships with the community as well as to create a healthy perspectives with kids about service professions like law enforcement.

Police officers and supervises will be regularly having lunch with 3rd and 4th grade students, WTKR reports.

Last Friday, Officer Tiffany Valentine and Sergeant Sandra Springle found some excited lunch buddies on their trip to the school.

Students enjoyed the company and the “selfies.”
