RICHMOND, Va. -- Are you ready to kick up your heels and have a little holiday fun? You’re invited to do just that at an upcoming holiday day party with a purpose.

A local non-profit organization is rolling out the red carpet to raise as much money as they can for deserving college students.

The KLM Scholarship Foundation’s mission is to raise money for book scholarships that are handed out to students who attend Virginia colleges and universities.

The organization’s first ever RVA Holiday Day Party is December 3 at Club Infuzion in Scott’s Addition.

The KLM Scholarship Foundation is partnering with the Chesterfield Chapter of the VSU Alumni Association for the day party.

The proceeds from this event will benefit students at Virginia State University.

The founder of KLM Scholarship Foundation Kimberley Martin says it’s a day of fun for a worthy cause. She says participants will enjoy line dancing, raffles and giveaways.

Organizers also coordinated a Greek challenge. The sorority or fraternity with the most members in attendance will win a “We’re number 1” trophy, professional group photo and bragging rights.

Martin describes the party attire as classy chic.

The RVA Holiday Day Party will be hosted by CBS 6’s Shelby Brown and DJ Drake. Tickets can be purchased on Eventbrite for $30.00. Tickets purchased at the door will be $35.00.

KLM Scholarship Foundation has been serving students who attend Virginia colleges and universities for nearly 15 years. The non-profit has distributed more than $184,000 in book scholarships.
