CAROLINE COUNTY, Va. – State Police have identified a Ruther Glen man killed Tuesday morning in a single-vehicle crash in Caroline County.
Investigators say the crash happened at 11:33 a.m., on Route 639 (Ladysmith Road), just west of Miss Clara Lane.
A 2013 Kia was eastbound on Route 639 when it ran off the road to left struck a sign and then a fire hydrant.
The driver and sole occupant of the Kia, Joseph Shinko, 63, was transported to Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center where he later died.
Police are investigating a medical condition as a factor in the crash.
