RICHMOND, Va. -- A cold front passed through our area Friday evening and colder air is moving in behind it. Low temperatures Saturday morning dropped down into the 30s for central Virginia, and there were some 20s across northern Virginia.
The high temperatures in the low and mid 50s Saturday afternoon are about ten degrees below normal for this time of year. This temperature departure will carry through into Sunday morning with widespread lows in the 20s.
Our entire viewing area will see freezing or subfreezing temperatures. A freeze warning is in effect for eastern Virginia, since this portion of the state has not experienced temperatures of 32° or colder so far this season.
This will represent the coldest morning in about seven months for many locations.
Southwesterly winds will push afternoon highs on Sunday into the lower 60s, and lows Sunday night will be in the 30s.
