Wednesday was the opening of the early signing period for high school seniors to sign National Letters of Intent for college athletic scholarships. Most of the signees were in girls athletics, and several Richmond area standouts are now headed on to college.

Jennifer Coleman, Naval Academy, basketball. Coleman is the first female athlete in Springer history to receive a scholarship from the U.S. Naval Academy
