RICHMOND, Va. -- High temperatures will reach record levels in the low and mid 80s Thursday at a time of year when normal highs are in the mid 60s.  A cold front will pass Thursday evening with scattered showers and thunderstorms.  Not all areas will see rainfall.

Behind the front, cooler and less humid air will return for Friday and the weekend.  Highs will be in the low to mid 60s, and lows Saturday morning will be in the 30s.  Frost will be possible in many locations and a hard freeze will be possible in isolated spots across northwestern Virginia.
