RICHMOND, Va. -- CBS 6 is News launching a new series of reports from longtime reporter Jon Burkett Mondays at 11 p.m.

"Crime Insider" will feature trending crimes impacting Central Virginia.

This week's case file contains inside information about a Friday night deadly home invasion in Henrico's West End; a violent sexual assault that lasted over two hours in a ditch where deputies released a composite sketch to help their investigation; and surveillance video of an armed robbery in Richmond's Fan district.

Fan armed robbery

A man was walking in the 200 block of North Granby when police said a unknown man approached from behind and, at gun point, demanded money around midnight Friday.

The victim's cell phone and ear buds were swiped.

The gunman, described as a white male, was last seen running towards VCU.

In the surveillance video you see three men around the victim.

Police are working to identify everyone involved.

Woman sexually assaulted in ditch

Deputies said a woman was sexually assaulted for nearly two hours in a ditch early Monday morning in Stafford County after a Hispanic man hit her car, and forced her off the road on Route 3.

Authorities released a composite sketch of the suspect late Monday.

If you were in that area between 2:30 and 5:30 a.m. and saw anything suspicious, call Stafford deputies.

Fatal West End home invasion

And I have inside information about , at the Three Chopt Townhomes. Sources said Monday night the 20-year-old suspect who survived a deadly West End home invasion over the weekend is in critical but stable condition at VCU Medical Center.

Taivon Fox, the teen that was shot to death by the homeowner, was supposed to be in court Monday on credit card fraud charges.

Sources said Fox graduated from Glen Allen high last year where he played football.

Those sources said there is no sign the two men knew the homeowner, but it is very possible they were acquaintances with someone who had been inside the home before.

If you have criminal activity for Burkett to look into, snap some pictures or shoot video andsend it to him on his Facebook page.
