HENRICO, Va. – Police identified a recent Glen Allen High School graduate as one of the intruders shot over the weekend during a home invasion at Three Chopt West Townhomes.
A tenant shot two suspects around 2 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, who reportedly entered the victims’ townhouse in the 8800 block of Three Chopt Road.
When police arrived on they scene, they located two adult males with gunshots wounds. Both were transported to a local hospital, where one male succumbed to his wounds.
Investigators said that the suspects knocked on the door and claimed that the resident's car had been hit. While a man went to check out the situation, the two masked suspects reportedly tried to rob the woman inside.
The robbery was thwarted when the victims discharged a firearm at the intruders, striking both, police said.
The deceased person has been identified as Taivon Maquell Fox, age 19, of Henrico.
Fox was a football player at Glen Allen High School, and social media was flooded with comments from friends and family responding to news of his death.
The identity of the injured person is not being released, and they remain in the hospital in critical condition. Henrico police continue to investigate this incident and at this time, no charges have been placed.
Fox was due in court today for previous charges of credit card fraud and theft, according to online records.
