82-year-old man killed crossing Henrico road

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- Police released the name of the Henrico man killed Thursday morning on Quioccasin Road near Quioccasin Middle School.

Luis Franco, 82, was killed as he attempted to cross Quioccasin, near Westridge Road, police said.

"[Franco] was struck by a Toyota sport utility vehicle that was traveling eastbound on Quioccasin Road," a Henrico Police spokesman said. "[He] was transported to a local hospital where he later died."

While the crash remained under investigation into Thursday afternoon, police said speed and alcohol were not considered factors in the crash.
