RICHMOND, Va. — A man’s body was found on railroad tracks Sunday afternoon downtown not far from a popular weekend spot for many Richmonders.
Police called out their forensics teams and detectives after a CSX crew found a man’s body on the tracks near Tredgar Street shortly before 5 p.m.
The discovery was made near the Belle Island footbridge in an area only accessible to CSX employees.
Officials said the remains were taken to the Medical Examiner’s Office for identification and to determine what caused his death.
Police said they do not expect foul play.
