PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. – Two children have been transported to the hospital after a tractor-trailer ran off the road and crashed into a Dollar General parking lot in Prince George County.

Police said the tractor-trailer was traveling eastbound on 460 in Disputanta when the brakes went out and the semi veered off the road, went across a grass median and traveled into the store parking lot where it struck three parked vehicles.

Two of the vehicles were badly damaged.

One of the vehicles was occupied by two small children. They were transported to Southside Regional Medical Center with non-severe injuries.

The father of the children involved said they were taken only as a precautionary measure.

During the crash, the business was struck by the vehicles hit by the tractor-trailer. Police said pole barriers in front of the store kept the damage from being a lot worse.
