HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- The ramp from Route 5 east to I-295 north in eastern Henrico County was closed Thursday morning due to a crash, according to VDOT. The ramp has since partially reopened so traffic can get by.

Investigators on scene said it appeared the trash truck driver took the ramp too fast.

While the driver claimed his tire blew, an investigator stated there were no marks to indicate a blown tire.

The driver was taken to the hospital to be checked out.

His condition has not yet been released.

Charges against the driver could be filed if the investigation determine he was at fault.
