RICHMOND, Va. – According to the United Network of Organ Sharing (UNOS), a national non-profit based in Richmond, about 45 percent of Americans are organ donors. In spite of this, there are still tens of thousands of people waiting on transplant lists, and an average of 22 of them die every day.
