RICHMOND, Va. — Police released the name and photo of a man wanted for the August 23 murder of a 24-year-old Chesterfield man.
“Detectives are attempting to locate Darnell D. Lee, Jr., 30, of Richmond,” a Richmond Police spokesperson said. “[He] is suspected of being involved in a homicide that occurred last month.”
Police said Lee shot and killed Brian M. King, of Chesterfield, at about 4:12 p.m. that day. The shooting took place at the Foxwood Apartments on Snead Road in South Richmond.
“[Police] arrived to find King suffering from an apparent gunshot wound in a courtyard at the apartment complex,” a police spokesperson said. “The victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. He later succumbed to his injuries.”
Police described Lee as a 6’2” tall, black male with a medium complexion, brown hair and brown eyes, who weighs approximately 165 pounds.
“Lee is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached. Anyone who sees him should call police immediately,” police said.
