UPDATE: Andrew “Bo” Hobbs died unexpectedly Monday morning. Hobbs, 57, was known around the community as a longtime girls’ basketball coach at Richmond’s Thomas Jefferson High School.

RICHMOND, Va. — A Monday morning death on Interstate 95, at Route 895 Pocahontas Parkway, was being investigated as a suicide according to Virginia State Police.

Police did not release the name of the deceased, nor the circumstances surrounding the death.

Multiple viewers reached out to CBS 6 Monday morning after witnessing police, ambulances, and other emergency vehicles on the interstate at about 3 a.m.

“I must have gone by right after whatever happened happened as not all the proper authorities were on scene,” a witness named Tracy said via private Facebook message. “Once I left work early and passed by again, they had more police there and a fire truck blocking off whatever was covered up on the highway.”
