CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- Police searched a Chesterfield neighborhood Wednesday night, trying to serve at least two felony warrants.

One was for sexual assault and the other was for rape, according to police sources.

The search began after a woman locked herself in a bathroom Wednesday morning at the Enterprise rental car office on Midlothian Turnpike near Arch Road.

Police say they got a call from that office saying a woman had come in looking battered and bruised. Witnesses told CBS 6 an ambulance showed up and took the woman away.

Hours later in a neighborhood off Adkins Ridge Place, Chesterfield officers were seen trying to serve a man with felony warrants at his last known address.

But they couldn't find him.

Police sources say the suspect is the woman’s estranged husband and she told police that for the past two days he's been holding her against her will at knife-point.

The woman was treated at a local hospital.

Police are not releasing the suspects name at this time.
