HANOVER COUNTY, Va. — A search of ditches along Route 301 near Hanover High School had nothing to do with the school, spokesperson for the Hanover Sheriff’s Office said.
“None of our schools are on lock down,” Hanover Schools spokesman Chris Whitley said. “I am aware that the Sheriff’s Office is conducting searches of ditch lines along Rt. 301. We’ve been informed that it has no connection to our schools and there is no danger or cause for alarm.”
The deputies were canvassing the area looking for evidence in the murder of Mechanicsville resident Reena Jadav and there was no major threat to the school, Hanover Sheriff’s Office Sgt. James Cooper said.
No evidence was found in the Jadav case, Cooper added.
