“Big Herm” is in the house

RICHMOND, Va. – Our Great friend of the show and local Caterer, “Big Herm” Baskerville made a return visit to the Virginia This Morning Kitchen to prepare the most important meal of the day…. Blackberry and Cream cheese stuffed French toast.
Ingredients:
4- 1-inch slices of French Bread &
6oz room temp cream cheese
20 Blackberries
2 TBS Blackberry Jam
2 Eggs
1 cup milk
1 tsp Vanilla
4 TBS butter
3 TBS confectioner sugar
Spread cream cheese evenly on top of the 4 slices of French bread.
Cut 10 blackberries into fours and mix with the 2 TBS of blackberry jam.
Spread on top of 2 slices of the French bread leaving a 1/4 inch gap around the sides leaving the cream cheese exposed.
Place the slices together making a sandwich.
In a bowl mix well 2 eggs with 1 cup of milk and tsp of vanilla and pour into flat pan.
Place one of the sandwiches in the mixture and carefully turn after a couple of minutes.
Place a frying pan over a med-high heat and add a 2 TBS of butter.
Place sandwich into pan and cook approximately 2 minutes per side.
Remove from pan and slice
Sprinkle with confectioners sugar and drizzle with syrup, garnish with remaining blackberries
