Teen in police custody after shooting near Jefferson Park

RICHMOND, Va. -- A teen person of interest is in police custody after a shooting near Jefferson Park in Church Hill Monday evening.

The shooting happened in the 1900 block of Princess Anne Avenue. Some Richmond Officers were at a nearby vigil when they received a call for shots fired in the area.

The juvenile shooting victim was taken to an area hospital with a gunshot wound to the arm. His injuries are not considered serious.

Police sources tell CBS 6 a 17-year-old male has been taken into police custody in connection with the shooting.
