RICHMOND, Va. – Some southside Richmond Dominion customers were briefly without power Monday afternoon after a fiery truck accident knocked down a power line.

Fire investigators said the accident happened after a drilling truck hit power lines on Bainbridge Street in South Richmond and it caught fire.

The fire was extinguished, but crews remained on scene until the electrical hazard was eliminated.

The driver of the truck was not injured in the crash.

Nearly 300 Dominion customers were without power at the peak of the outage, but they were recently restored.
