Police are evacuating Terminal 8 at JFK airport in New York after Port Authority Police received a call of shots fired in the departures area, according to spokesman Joe Pentangelo.
The possible shooting happened at Kennedy Airport’s Terminal 8 around 9:30 p.m., according to WPIX.
There are currently no injuries, no arrests and no confirmation of shots fired.
However, Port Authority police are evacuating the terminal at this time to be cautious, Pentangelo said.
Airline passengers tweeted that their flights were being diverted from the airport, with one passenger saying his flight was diverted to Buffalo.
A ground stop has been issued at the airport due to “security” until 11:30 p.m. ET, according to the FAA command system website.
