RICHMOND, Va. — The bear exhibit at Maymont is closed until further notice following last Thursday’s damaging storm.
“A huge tree in the exhibit came down during the storm Thursday night, and it did significant damage to the perimeter fence,” Maymont posted on Facebook.
The bears were not injured.
“They have bedrooms near their exhibit area where they stay each night and also in severe weather or when exhibit repairs or maintenance is required,” a Maymont spokesman said.
