RICHMOND, Va. -- Police are asking for the public’s help to identify a man wanted in a home burglary in Richmond’s Swansboro West neighborhood.
Police said the incident happened on the morning of June 2, in the 200 block of East 37th Street. Officers responded to the home after neighbors reported seeing the suspect entered the home through a rear window.
Police said the suspect entered the home armed with a handgun.
Surveillance video appears to show the suspect trying to hit a dog inside the home with a chair.
CBS 6 spoke with the homeowners off camera Tuesday evening.
They said thankfully, the dog was not injured, but has been distraught ever since the incident.
Police said a television was reportedly taken from the residence before the suspect fled the area on a BMX bike.
Tuesday, the homeowners tell CBS 6 the television was found across the street behind a boiler.
