Victim in city’s 27th homicide identified

RICHMOND, Va. -- Police have identified a man was found fatally wounded inside a home in Richmond's Manchester neighborhood.

Officers responded to the 1000 block of East 15th Street for the report of a person down a little before 11 a.m. Saturday morning. Upon arrival, they located the body of 23-year-old Ronald C. McWilliams, Jr. in the back yard of the house.

Detectives determined that he had not sustained a gunshot wound, but are still ruling the death as a homicide, making it the 27th in the city of Richmond in 2016.

The Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of McWilliams' death after completing an autopsy.
